Summertime
Summer has finally began. It has been very nice to not have to wake up to an alarm clock in the mornings. I love being able to wake up on my own, watch some television and not be in such a rush all the time. It gives me time to actually stop and think. During the days I get bored. It's weird not having 13 kiddos to hang out with everyday. As much as I am enjoying some time off, I really do miss their laughs and adorable personalities. Barett and I have been spending more time together lately and I absolutely love it. This past weekend was wonderful! We went to the laser show on Friday night. I had decided this would be a fun date night. I hadn't been to the laser show in a long time. When I was in high school we went practically every weekend and a lot of great memories were made there. I knew it would be fun to go with Barett and even though it had rained earlier in the day and I knew the ground was going to be wet, I insisted we still go! I am so glad we did because we had a blast. As I sat their watching the laser show I began to think (as I always do) about how amazing God is and how beautiful he made the Earth. I also felt so blessed to be in a country where I have the freedom to do fun things like this with my loved ones. And it brought me joy to see other families having a great time together also. It made me excited for my future and being able to hopefully share these same memories with my husband and kids someday. It was such a great time! On Saturday we spent the day with good friends by the pool celebrating Grants birthday. Saturday night we went to the Shadydale Rodeo. Barett won tickets on the radio, so Barett, Me, Barett's dad, and our friend Jacob piled into the jeep and went. When we got there we were told that since Barett had won the tickets on the radio that we got VIP parking (very exciting-I have never been VIP anything haha). The rodeo was great. Sunday morning we went to church and had lunch with the family at Tokyo. I really enjoyed this weekend and wish that every weekend could be this fun. It's weekends like this that you don't want to end, but soon it does and you find yourself back in the nonstop rush that life brings. So happy to have these memories and excited for what the rest of the summer brings. :)
